Well racing is just around the corner.  we cannot wait for it to get here - it's been a long winter.

we are doing a few upgrades to the car for this season and plan on doing alot of testing.

We want to thank ngk spark plugs & gabe Gerberding of amsoil for their continued support of team paddock racing for the 2013 season.  hopefully we will add a few more to this list :-)

Our first race will be at Virginia Motorsport Park on April 19 for their Street Wars race and then to Maryland International Raceway on April 20 & 21 for their Door Wars Race.  with plenty of testing before then.

Here are some pictures from Capitol Raceway.

June 12, 2012

We have been doing ALOT of testing these past few months.  We have another test day next Wednesday and hopefully that will be all the testing we need.  We have been trying all kinds of new stuff and really figuring out what the car likes and dislikes with this new motor.  We have been having fun with it but at the same time it's been frustrating too!  Here are some recent testing pictures from MIR.

May 10, 2012

Here are some pictures taken by our friend LaMarr Queen who is wonderful photographer.  The black and white one is awesome!

April 23, 2012

This past weekend was our first outing of the season.  We were at Maryland International Raceway for the Door Warz Race.  It was orginally supposed to be a 2-day race, but due to the rain that was in the forecast, they decided to fit everything into 1-day.  We tried some new things, but unfortunately it didn't go too well.  The car wasn't happy at all.  That's the frustrating part about getting a new motor - finding the perfect tune-up!  I did qualify #5 though and during testing we went 150 mph in the 18th mile on a not-to-good pass.  We will definately be doing alot of testing in the next few weeks so keep checking back for some more updates.

Oh, and I just updated the shedule page and added a some more races.

January 26, 2012

Hope everyone had a great Holiday season and is now getting geared up for the 2012 racing season!

Our car is just about ready.  We had some upgrades done to the transmission and Kris has been taking weight out where he can.  Other than that, just some small things that we have been wanting to do.

Check out the schedule page.  I added some races on there, but of course there will be more added once we get more dates.

November 16, 2011

We attended the World Cup Finals at Maryland International Raceway November 5 & 6.  This new motor is awesome!  During testing I ran my fastest 1/8 mile pass of 4.88.  The race was 1/4 mile and I ran my fastest time ever of a 7.62.  We are very pleased of how it's performing and that's without really doing alot of tuning on it yet.  So we should definately get alot more out of it.  I qualified #14 out of 29 cars.  Not bad considering we only had two 1/4 mile passes on the motor.  Here are some pictures from the race.

November 2, 2011

Team Paddock Racing would like to welcome "PROFOX Racing" as a sponsor to our race team for the 2012 racing season and beyond.  Their fire suits are awesome and they come at a great price too!  But that's not all they sell.  They have gloves, shoes, headsocks/underwear, window nets, helmet supports and gear bags.  Plus they have package deals too!  So please, if you are looking for some new safety equipment, check them out.  www.profoxracing.com

October 24, 2011

We went testing at MIR yesterday and finally got a good 1/8th mile pass on the new motor.  My first 4-second pass!  Finally - it's been a long time coming.  Went a 4.88 on an easy pass.  I think it's definately got alot more in it too!  We will testing again on November 4 at MIR to get ready for the Import vs. Domestic race there that weekend.  Can't wait!

Also, my dad is selling his 1980 Peterbilt 359.  It's a gorgeous truck (I wish I could buy it - can you imagine us pulling into the racetrack with this?) that has been garage kept.  It's in mint condition.  If you, or anyone that you may know, would be interested please let me know or you can call 301-627-4405 for more information.  Here is a picture:

August 2, 2010

Went testing at MIR on Saturday and had a very good day.  Car ran good and consistent.  We are ready for out next race which is Ultimate Outlaws at Atco, New Jersey. Below are some random shots I found on my camera I thought I would share on here:

The first one is the race car with the new side exit exhaust - which I love!  The third one is Kris trying out lawn tractor-tractor pulling.  He did pretty good too for his first time.  The last one is me driving my first car (Kris got it out of the garage and cleaned all the dust off for me so I could take it for a spin around the neighorhood).  This is the car that got me hooked on drag racing.  One day I hope to turn it into a drag radial car!

Here is an awesome picture I just received from a guy that was taking pictures on Sunday at MIR.  His name is Andy and his website is www.proimagesonline.com

June 21, 2010

Finally!  A good day at the track.  Went to MIR yesterday.  It started off kinda slow, but the day ended great.  And boy was it a hot one!  Went a 5.35 skating all over the place and with only 1 stage of nitrous.  It was such a great feeling to finally make a good pass this year.  Can't wait till friday night to hit it with 2 stages and then once we get the first 2 working with no problems we will hit it with all 3.  Now that should be a ride!

May 18, 2010

Kris and I would like to thank Tim Essick for helping us with the heads.  Both heads
got damaged a couple weeks ago when we were testing/racing and Tim came through for us on getting them repaired.  Thanks Tim !!

We will be doing some testing this weekend and will be ready for our next race at Capitol Raceway on May 28.  I plan on having some good news to post up on here!

"I've always found that anything worth achieving will always have obstacles in the way and you've got to have that drive and determination to overcome those obstacles en route to whatever it is that you want to accomplish" Chuck Norris

April 2, 2010

We picked up our motor last night from Leroy.  We are running behind in schedule, but should be ready in 2 weeks.  We plan on doing some motor passes/testing before our first race at Capitol on April 23.  I cannot wait to get back into the car - it's been a long winter for us.  With Kris plowing snow so much from those big snow storms we had, it definately set us back a few weeks.  Hope everyone had a good and safe winter and hopefully you will be able to make it out sometime this season to see us race.

December 23, 2009

I want to thank Smith Brothers Push Rods for putting a picture of my car in their 2010 catalog.  They have been a great sponsor and I look forward to continuing representing their company for the 2010 season.

November 19, 2009

Well it's that time of year - the end of the racing season.  Wow, where has the time gone?  Between the rain and burning pistons up, it's been challenging, but it's also been fun.  We did have two top 10 finishes.  One in the Ulitmate Outlaws Series - Outlaw 10.5 Class and the other in the Street Outlaw Class at Virginia Motorsport Park.  Plus we got on Pinks All Outtakes on Speed Television.  Yeah, things could have gone a lot smoother for us, but anytime we are out there racing, we are having fun!  And that's what it is all about.

I want to thank my sponsors, in no particular order:

NGK Spark Plugs, Mickey Thompson Tires, Griffin Radiator, Smith-Brothers PushRods, Girlzspeed Racing, Amsoil and South County Signs.

The help all of you have given us is greatly appreciated.  Without it, it would be hard to do what we love - Drag Racing.

I also want to thank the following people for coming through for us when we really needed it:

Kenny and Bruce Woolford of Woolford Brothers, Inc. for fixing the crack in the block.  And last, but definately not least, Leroy Dutney for getting our motor back together for us, not once, but twice, within a 2 1/2 month period!

We are already working on some upgrades for next year.  So stay tuned.  I will be posting updates as we get them done.

Happy Holidays!

November 10, 2009

Here are some pictures from the World Cup Finals at MIR this past weekend.  Weather was great!  Unfortunately I shook the tires during first round but I did have a good pass during qualifying and ran a 7.84.

This coming weekend we will be at Virginia Motorsport Park for the final race with the Ultiimate Outlaws Series.  Come on down - it's going to be a good time!

The race at Virginia Motorsport Park got rained out Friday night.  The new date is August 14, 2009.

Saturday we went to 75/80 Raceway.  Qualified #5 out of 17 cars!  But unfortunately didn't make 1st round because of a steering issue.  No big deal.  I truly beleive that everything happens for a reason.

Here are a few pictures from 75/80.

June 23, 2009

Wow, where do I begin.  Pinks All Out at Maryland International Raceway was a weekend we soon won't forget.  Friday we ran test and tune and boy was it hot.  The car slowed down a bit, but since it was so hot and humid we thought it was normal.  On Saturday morning around 9:00 a.m., Kris found out that we had a burnt piston.  Racing was supposed to start around 11:00 a.m. but because of the rain, it was delayed.

Kris decided to try and fix the car, so him and some friends starting tearing it down and 4 hours later they had it running again.  Luckily for us, and because of the rain, the race didn't get started until around 4:00 p.m. (I will never complain about rain again!)  I qualified for the Quick 8 and made it to the semi-finals where I had a nitrous backfire.  All in all it was a great weekend.  Our friend Ralph Hardesty (who helped with the motor) ended up winning the Quick 8.

I want to thank Kris, Ralph Hardesty, Larry Boswell, Mike McNab, Danny Walker, my brother-in-law Wade Rawlings, Dennis Lowman, Joe Sipes and Scott Bitzer for all their help.  Without them, I wouldn't have been able to race that day.

Here are some pictures from the weekend.  Enjoy!

May 4, 2009

This past weekend was a good weekend for us.  I won a ticket to the Pinks All Out for June 20 at Maryland International Raceway.  Qualified #3 in the Quick 8 with a 7.87 e.t.  The weather was good, the track was good and the car ran great !  Pat and Kathy from PKS Photography were there and took some great photos, and as soon I get them, I will post them on the website for everyone to see.  If you live in the area, try and make it out to the Pinks All Out race at MIR.  It's gonna be a good time !

April 6, 2009

Last week was a very stressful week.  On Sunday night before we were getting ready to start the motor, we found out the block was cracked.  Monday morning, thank goodness, we found someone who could fix it that day.  A company in Glen Burnie, MD called Woolford Brothers, Inc.  Bruce Woolford did an awesome job welding the block and we are grateful that they were able to do it so quickly.  If you ever need any chassis - custom fabrication work done, you can call them at 410-424-1957 and the website is www.woolfordbrothers.com.

We finally got the car put back together Thursday night and left for Rockingham, NC friday afternoon.  During 2nd round qualifying, I sheered the flywheel bolts and thanks to Russ Sutherland and Tim Lynch, Kris was able to get that fixed for first round of eliminations.  Unfortunately, I had major traction issues during that round.

Thanks to Nate and Adam Pritchett for putting on a great race.  Kris and I had a great time and we cannot wait for next 1320X race in Michigan on May 16.

Here are some pictures from the weekend:

This past Saturday, Kris and I attended the "Meet and Greet/Dyno Day" at Nate and Adam Pritchett's shop.  It was such a great time.  They had tons of good food and the turnout was huge.  We got to hang out with some racing buddies and got to meet some new friends.  Thanks to Adam and Nate for the great time!

I want to thank Smith Brothers Push Rods for putting a picture of my car in their 2010 catalog.  They have been a great sponsor and I look forward to continuing representing their company for the 2010 season.

NEXT UP: LAST MAN OR WOMAN STANDING

FRIDAY JULY 31ST

On Friday July 31st VMP is adding a fresh twist to its Ladies Night Series.  Instead of predetermined match races, we're letting the fans decided "who's gonna be doin' it to who".  Upon arriving at the track, fans will be given a ballot displaying the names of the eight competing racers for the evening's main event.  Each fan will then pick the two cars they want to see go heads up in the opening round of our "Last Man or Woman" Standing tournament which features one woman competing with 7 men.

WHO WILL BE THE LAST ONE STANDING?

Brenda Paddock (Chevy Camaro)

"Big B" (Chevy Nova)

Marvin Harvell (Ford Mustang)

Iron Mule (Ford Mustang)

Big Kenny (Chevy Malibu)

JC Richardson (Chevy Nova)

Country Boyz (Chevy Camaro)

Baby Big Block (Oldsmobile Cutlass)

Brenda Paddock's Chevy Camaro

Does she have enough to hang with the men?

Only way to find out is to be at VMP on FRIDAY JULY 31st!!!!!

Enjoy!

For the 2009 season we are going to be upgrading from 2-stages of Nitrous to 3-stages.   Steve Johnson of Induction-Solutions is currently working on our intake and should be done with it soon.  In the meantime, here is a picture of what it looks like so far.  So, if you want to go fast contact Steve - he is the best in the business.
